The interface between the diamond layer and the cemented carbide substrate of a Z series PDC is a low-stress ring tooth structure. Considering the cutting characteristics of rock at a super-hard stratum and the PDC’s wear mechanism, this innovative design greatly improves the impact resistance of the PDC. For this series, the company was granted a utility model patent (patent No.: ZL201220730895.0) in 2012. With brand-new manufacturing processes and a double-layered diamond design, this series features a highly wear-resistant diamond on the thin surface layer and a diamond at the thick middle layer that shows high impact resistance while it is highly wear-resistant. It is thus particularly suitable for drilling complex and hard strata. The series has shown great performance over the past two or three years, solving many drilling problems for customers.
